Now that we’ve established who Candlelighters are and why the work they do is so important, maybe you’re asking why is it important to have your boiler serviced, when you should have it done and how often.
Why is it important to have your boiler serviced?
A boiler service is important because it ensures that your boiler is running as it should. Now, a faulty boiler is a big problem for two reasons. One, a faulty boiler could be costing you loads of money. Two, and more importantly, a broken boiler can be extremely dangerous. A faulty boiler can be a source of poisonous carbon monoxide and due to its colourless and scentless nature, can be a very dangerous
Here is when we would recommend having your boiler serviced:
- If it’s been at least a year since having your boiler serviced last
- If you’ve moved into a new house
We recommend having your boiler serviced once a year, as do most heating engineers.
What’s included in a boiler service?
During a boiler service, we inspect the boiler and its controls to ensure that everything is working as it should. We also check your boiler for any corrosion or leaks, as mentioned previously, this can be extremely dangerous. We’ll also check gas pressure and then inspect the flue to ensure that no unsafe fumes are being emitted. Once we’re happy with the condition of the boiler and have decided that no further action is needed, we pop the cover back on and check the seals.
